CONSULTANCY SERVICES FOR DETAILED DESIGN AND TENDERING SERVICES (PHASE-I) AND CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION SERVICES (PHASE-II) FOR REHABILITATION OF KULAURA-SHAHBAZPUR SECTION OF BANGLADESH RAILWAY
Kulaura-Shahbazpur (Bangladesh) – Mahishasan (India) rail link was established in 1970 with 60’R’ rail and wooden sleeper. Train operation after 1971 in Kulaura-Shahbazpur section continued up to 6th July, 2002. Due to repeated incidents of derailment Kulaura-Shahbazpur section was declared closed on 7th July, 2002. In recent period Bangladesh Government has taken initiative to gear up the railway sector by conceiving several railway development programme in the tune of National Transport Policy. This project is one of the integrated components of the development programme planned by the present government to revitalize Bangladesh Railway.
