The PLAXIS Basic Software training program, conducted at DDC Headquarters, aimed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the PLAXIS software suite. This powerful tool is widely used for geotechnical engineering analysis and design, equipping professionals with essential skills to enhance their technical expertise.
Program Objectives:
Training Objectives
The objectives of this five-day training were as follows:
Ø To deal with complex non-linear behaviour of both soil-structure and soil-structure-water interaction.
Ø Simulating various soil and rock mechanics problems, such as slope stability, foundation design, excavation, and tunnelling.
Ø Evaluating the behaviour of structures interacting with the surrounding soil under different load conditions.
Ø Assessing groundwater flow, seepage, and soil-water interactions to ensure safe and efficient designs.
Curriculum Overview:
Session 1:
ü Introduction of PLAXIS & Soil
ü PLAXIS background
Session 2:
ü Soil models & element
ü Input module, meshing & Calculation module
Session 3:
ü Model simulation
ü Output Model
Session 4:
ü Exercise & Discussion
Session 5:
ü Introduction of PLAXIS 3D.
ü Discussion
The training materials were designed to provide participants with a thorough understanding of PLAXIS. The curriculum consisted of five sessions, and participants' knowledge was assessed through a single quiz.
Participants:
In batch -1 a group of 10 professionals, joined the PLAXIS training Program.
